Anwar can try...

PKR has sent a letter to Parliament Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia requesting arrangements are made for Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to attend the upcoming sitting on March 9.

The letter, sent by PKR's Parliamentary Whip Datuk Johari Abdul, quotes Article 48 of the Federal Constitution which states that Anwar is legally allowed to attend sittings until his pardon petition is finalised.
"The highest authority is the Constitution, and it says that as long as Anwar's pardon petition is not finalised, he has not lost his qualification as a Member of Parliament," Johari said at a press conference at the PKR headquarters on Monday.
Johari clarified that the petition sent to the Pardons Board - which is chaired by the Yang-di-Pertuan Agong - could take as long as six months to be finalised, which entails that Anwar can still attend Parliament sittings.
Well, to me, Anwar can try.

His party can even seek an audience with the King for 'a tea session' at the Parliament.

However, I don't know which article of the Federal Constitution he was referring to because if a precedent is set, then any company CEO and chairman can apply for 'a day out' to chair his company's EGM or monthly meeting.

I am not saying Anwar is guilty, the court decided he's guilty. Its between him, Saiful and the Almighty God. So, I respect the court, and together with tangible evidence produced during the trial, the law finds him guilty.

Anwar is not a political prisoner. Pity that he succeeded in making his supporters and sympathisers believe that he is a result of a bad Putrajaya campaign to kill him politically when actually it was him and Saiful.

Yes, he can ask for the King's pardon. He may get it, he may not. But if he gets it, I am of the opinion that we will not fair to the rest of the prisoners, whom almost all confessed 'not guilty' in court.

What about a poor single mother who is jailed for two years for stealing a 'Kit Kat' worth RM2.20 from a supermarket for his 2-year old son? Or a jobless man who is put behind bars for 3 years for stealing a kilogram of rice for his hungry wife and 4 kids?

Don't you think they deserve to be pardoned as well?

What have the Opposition done thus far to study all court cases and help those deemed to have been served with 'injustice'?

Pakatan Rakyat can boast of having so many 'great lawyers' and talk big about justice, human rights and freedom. However, freedom is not about getting or fighting just for one person and letting others to wonder about their future.

PETALING JAYA - Malaysia's opposition Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has written to the Parliament Speaker requesting that arrangements be made for their defacto leader Anwar Ibrahim to attend the ensuing session which commences on Mar 9. - See more at: http://news.asiaone.com/news/malaysia/anwars-party-requests-jailed-leader-be-allowed-attend-parliament#sthash.lXXwSsRH.dpuf
