Stop questioning Islam!

I just wanna join the polemic about 'hudud law' in Kelantan, an issue I tried best not to comment all this while.

However, a statement by Gerakan Youth Chief Tan Keng Liang (pic) really got to my nerves. As a Muslim and a Malaysian, I am compelled to ask him - what does he know about Islam and Hudud Law?
PETALING JAYA: Gerakan says Kelantan State Exco Mohd Nassuruddin Daud’s claim that non -Muslims would not be affected by Hudud is a blatant lie.
Gerakan Youth Chief Tan Keng Liang said the the statement clearly disregards the views of non-Muslims.
Tan asked what would happen if a crime involves Muslims and non-Muslims? Which law would be applicable in determining such cases?
He said the move by PAS would result in two sets of criminal laws and would lead to a Constitutional crisis.
” There’s no provision for Hudud laws under our Federal Constitution and was never agreed when Malaysia was formed.
” It must be reminded that this issue is not about anyone being against Islamic laws and principles. It’s a question of whether it would be practical to do so and should we forgo the principles in the Federal Constitution,” he asked.
He said DAP and PKR had chosen to remain silent over Kelantan PAS government’s intention to implement Hudud in the state.
” We urge Lim Kit Siang and Anwar Ibrahim to make their stand on this matter before it’s too late."
Please stop talking about the Federal Constitution since there are already a move to amend it if the opposition takes over Putrajaya in the next general election. Are you with Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat?

And what do you mean by '..before its too late'? That Hudud will terrorise the nation, especially the non-Muslims?

Hey, I don't support PAS as a party. However, as a Muslim, the Islamic Law is there and its up to the authority to implement it or not. How much do you support DAP in repealing ISA and now the Sedition Act?

Do you also support the move to strip the rights of the Malays and the status of Bahasa Malaysia and Islam as the official language and religion?

How many countries have you visited, notably the Islamic nations that imposed such a law? You think countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Sudan do not have foreigners and non-Muslims? There are millions of them, for your knowledge, and they are not perturbed by the Islamic law.

Have we - Malaysian Malays and Muslims - ever questioned your religion, and have we taken anything from it? No, and will never!

The Islamic Law is to maintain order and strong discipline, and its meant for Muslims. We are prohibited from all evil deed like stealing, killing, taking drugs and alcohols, kidnapping, etc. I wonder if other religions permit that, and if not, why must we commit a crime?

I believe the law will take into consideration the interest of other faith, if and when implemented. Religion is for you and me to keep. We don't interfere with yours, and please do no interfere with ours.

And what do you really understand from the Federal Constitution, bro?

Please stay as a friend, will you?
