Forget Alvin Tan!

To IGP Khalid Abu Bakar, the media and the government, stop making Alvin Tan a hero. The more you publicise him, the more popular he gets.

Just let him try seek asylum in the United States. He is not a political fugitive. He is a fugitive of his own doing, his crime of insulting Islam and the Muslims.

He is just another Salman Rushdie. Remember this author of The Satanic Verses? Alvin will not feel safe anywhere he goes. He will regret it.

I believe the US will not grant him asylum, and will be repatriated to Malaysia to face the law he dodges. Don't call him a Chinese. He is another Malaysian who breaks the sensitivity of his own countrymen.

But after all he had done, he doesn't deserve that Malaysian title. If you want to act on him, let him go and strip his Malaysian citizenship. Don't ever mention about him again. Sooner or later, he will return. 

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating ‘notorious’ sex blogger Alvin Tan under the Sedition Act 1948 following scathing remarks he made against the country’s top leaders on his Facebook account recently.
This is the second time Alvin, one half of the controversial sex blogger ‘Alvivi’ is investigated under the act after he was jointly charged with former partner Vivian Lee for publishing insensitive materials mocking the holy month of Ramadhan last year.
“Members of the public have lodged reports against Alvin Tan. Upon this, we initiated an investigation under the Sedition Act, “said Deputy federal CID chief DCP Datuk Amar Singh to Astro AWANI,  today.
Alvin hit the headlines yet again after he was purportedly fled to the United States to seek political asylum.

From today onwards, do not disturb him. He is now in the US, waiting for his 'asylum application' approved, if he is lucky. Otherwise, he has to seek solace in other countries. I sympathise with his parents and friends back home for 'losing' him but I believe they are in contact.

We do not hate him. A mistake was made; a crime committed. While others had to face the law, he simply chicken out by accusing the government of using the Sedition Act against him. But what he did was seditious as it could incite a racial disharmony in the country. Ooppss... no wonder he escapes such a possibility.

And what's the point of lodging more police reports on him?

MELAKA, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Melaka Umno Youth and two non-governmental organisations (NGOs) today lodged police reports against sex blogger Alvin Tan over postings by the latter on his Facebook which are alleged to have insulted the nation's leaders.
Umno Youth executive committee member and Pemikir Muda Malaysia (an NGO) president Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen and Persatuan Bekas Tentera Tidak Berpencen Melaka president Alias Abd Wahab represented them in lodging the reports at the Melaka Tengah police station here.
Speaking to reporters, Mohd Rafiq said they wanted the authorities to act against the blogger who is currently overseas.

Had he apologised much earlier, he wouldn't have to undergo all this pain of being a fugitive. Malaysians are tolerance when it comes to matter like this. A simple apology douses off the anger and fury. But why didn't he?

A young and brilliant guy like him could have easily found a space in the community, in the government or the private sector. Yes, he got brain but he abused it.

So, stop highlighting him. He wants to be in the US, the country he dubs as granting 'absolute freedom' to mankind. He wants to be internationally famous. He can be anything he wants, including a porno actor!

We don't want him anymore!
