No Hari Raya politics

Second day of Aidilfitri.

About 30,000 people attended His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong's open house at the Istana Negara yesterday.

At the Seri Perdana, 75,000 attended Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's open house, according to media reports.

No idea about other leaders' open house, and I am actually don't bother much about it. Its the usual scene every year when politicians, VVIPs and rich men organised open house, whether its Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali or Christmas.

Malaysians are the unexpected lot. Irrespective of race, religion and ideology, they were they for one reason - to join the celebration.

You will also see them united in sports.

However, once they are out of the open house and stadium, their political differences will conquer their mind again.

At Najib's open house, you could see some of his critics shaking hands with him, shared light moment and sat together.

In some countries, including that of the West, political differences mean no room for both sides to compromise in anything, including for common interest.

Unlike Malaysians!

We - including our politicians - are not that bad al all, right?

SELAMAT AIDILFITRI, MAAF ZAHIR & BATIN
