The colors of Malaysian politics.
Suing is becoming a practice (shall I say habit?) among politicians of both divides. Whether its Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat, they are equal.
Some won their case, some lost. But the 'suing spree' is making our courts, magistrates and lawyers too occupied, thus pushing other cases to prolong. Am I not right?
Latest, our 'big boss' Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak. His libel suit against Malaysiakini and Rafizi Ramli still pending, he goes for another.
With more and more similar cases make headlines, one may wonder where are we leading to? With politicians and the media selling lies, I believe we need a strong set of law to put all those nonsense to a stop.
Najib has every right to sue Tony Phua and Chan. However, people like Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Anwar Ibrahim, Hadi Awang and others have their rights too.
By the way, do we have enough courts to take up such cases, which I believe will rise beyond control soon...

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is suing PJ Utara MP Tony Pua and MediaRakyatportal owner Chan Chee Kong for defamation.Nothing's wrong with suing them, especially liars and defamers. Must put a limit to it, and the only avenue is taking them to court.Najib filed the suit through Messrs Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak at the KL High Court civil registry on Thursday.
A copy of the suit will be served to the defendants’ solicitors on Friday.
In the lawsuit, Najib said Pua had delivered a speech at a DAP fund-raising dinner on Nov 3 last year relating to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) where the latter had slandered him.He said the speech was then uploaded by Chan or his agents onto MediaRakyat's YouTube channel and MediaRakyat's webpage.
Najib is seeking an apology, retraction of the statement and compensation.
