We always welcome foreigners who wish to work in Malaysia, help us in various sectors of the economy and enjoy their stay here.
However, procedures must be observed. No country allows other nationals to enter their territory illegally.
So are the Indonesians who breached our immigration law. Yes, we want them to work here legally, with valid permit and traveling documents. It would be easier for the government, employers and the workers themselves.
And this effort by Jakarta must be highly lauded.
Its for their own good. Working here with valid documents will ensure their welfare is well looked after by the employers and, of course, the government.
They can stay without fear and having sleepless nights, worried of enforcement by the police, immigration officers and others.
Thank you Mr Widodo. We still need your people in Malaysia. The Indonesians are hard working, loyal and friendly. There are still sectors who need people like them, and we will be there to assist your people who want to work and earn a living in Malaysia.

JAKARTA, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia are mobilizing seven C- 130 Hercules military planes to bring back its nationals that entered the neighboring country of Malaysia as illegal workers, a move which a minister said showed the government's commitment to Indonesian migrant workers overseas.Better that they go home first, re-arrange whatever necessary documents needed to come back to Malaysia. We have been 'allowing' them to stay as illegal immigrants for so long - some between 10 to 20 years - but its time to be 'proper'.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo ordered the use of military planes, instead of vessels like previously did, to return those troubled migrant workers.
The use of military planes would speed up the repatriation process, Indonesian Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri said.
"It shows the government's commitment in dealing with migrant workers," Hanif said while waiting for the first batch of repatriated migrant workers in the Halim Perdanakusumah Air Force Base on Tuesday.
"If they cannot be legalized, we will bring them back," he said.
According to information released by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the repatriation of the illegal workers from Malaysia was scheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday. A total of 707 illegal Indonesian migrant workers now detained in nine Malaysian immigration detention centers would be flown back.
