Rosmah Mansor needs protection from critics, especially the unscrupulous ones posted online. She has been the target by some social media players of late who accused her of being 'the main force behind hubby Najib Tun Razak', 'the first prime minister', queen control' and other badmouthing.
As the 'first lady', she deserves a clean picture.
However, I think Najib needs that protection more than Rosmah from now on. Its time he consolidates with the social media players, notably bloggers under Umno payroll whom some of them he described as 'bangang'for their 'friendly fire' at the party and Barisan Nasional.
KUALA LUMPUR: Rosmah Mansor, the wife of prime minister Najib Razak, has said in no uncertain terms that if Indians guard her dignity and honour from online critics, she would be in a better position to help them more in their endeavours.What have Umno HQ and information chief Ahmad Maslan done to douse off the critics against Mr PM over his remark at the recently concluded Umno general assembly.
Speaking to 1,000 Indian graduates of a training course organised by the National Affirmative Action Movement (NAAM), Rosmah said, “If you stand by me, I can do much more for you, insya’allah,”
She also called on them to fully embrace all that Information Technology had to offer.
“Better teach them IT to know how to answer back to those nasty people,” she said in reference to those who posted scathing comments about her online.
And just in case her audience did not fully comprehend her instructions, she elaborated, “Standing by me means, you have to protect me… be in front of me and protect me, please.”
I though Umno media team is formidable, responsive and quick enough to 'protect' the boss from becoming a subject of prejudice among bloggers and social media players alike?
But the chose to leave it to the open forum, and there you are - Najib is under fire from all corners, including pro-Umno and pro-Barisan Nasional bloggers. Ironically, we have yet to read comments by any of the so-called 'Umno-fed bloggers'.
Are they leaving it to Najib alone to clear the air? Then, they don't deserve to be around him. Mr PM must appoint a new social media team to help 'protect' him, his wife, Cabinet and party.
