PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali was today sworn in as Selangor's 15th menteri besar before the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah, at about 10.45am.
The Bukit Antarabangsa PKR assemblyman, who garnered an 11th hour support from his party, replaced Khalid Ibrahim who has held the position since 2008.
Congratulations, Azmin...but what about his boss Anwar Ibrahim?
Not only that he failed to get his wife Wan Azizah the mentri besar post, Anwar also lost his position as Selangor economic adviser. His office is officially 'closed' with immediate effect.
His ambition to replace Khalid - by contesting the Kajang by-election - was also defeated by the court's verdict. His wife contested for him and PKR worked alongside DAP to oust Khalid, hoping Wan Azizah could replace him.
PKR even sacked Khalid for defying calls to step down. Pakatan Rakyat, however, forgot the fact that it is the Sultan's prerogative right to choose any of the state assemblyman as his mentri besar. And Azmin, who was never on Pakatan Rakyat's MB-nomination list, is now the victor.
The winner takes it all, the loser standing small...I'm beginning to like this ABBA's song.

SHAH ALAM: The office of the Selangor economic adviser at Plaza Perangsang is closed with immediate effect, the Selangor state government decided in an executive council meeting today. Its a double-blow for Anwar, whose September 16 Plan to wrest Putrajaya and become prime minister, ended as a farce.
In a statement, Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) chief executive officer Faekah Husin said the closure was implemented in order to save on the state government's administration costs.
"The state is of the opinion that matters involving the economy can be done through the Selangor State Investment Centre, a one-stop centre, which has trained and experienced officers in adminstration, procedures and marketing," she said in the statement.
The Selangor economic adviser's office was established in 2009 and parked under the MBI to capitalise on the experience and expertise of former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also former Finance Minister, in economy and finance.
She thanked Anwar for his contribution and service during his tenure.
She also acknowledged that there had been many accusations and controversies that surfaced since the office's inception, including allegations about Anwar's salary and whether his contributions to the state was in accordance to with the position he held.
"In relation to that, we feel that it is appropriate for the office to be closed so that its role does not overlap with the duties and responsibilities of state officers who specialise in managing the economic affairs and investments of Selangor.
