Only CM understands English?

A poor understanding of the English language has been identified as the main reason that led to the Malacca High School (MHS) or SMK Tinggi Melaka relocation fiasco.

Chief Minister Idris Haron said his suggestion during one of the weekly Exco meetings earlier this year for an investigation to be conducted on the safety of 'highland schools' such as Sekolah Menengah Sains Muzaffar Shah, has been misinterpreted by certain quarters as 'land at the high school (MHS).

(Does CM always address Exco meeting in English?)
He clarified that the so-called plan by the state administration to relocate the historical city’s oldest school, which drew outcry from the public and the schools’ alumni, was never discussed in the weekly state executive councilor meeting.
"No Exco paper has been tabled to discuss any proposal to relocate the school.
"The concerned parties need not worry as the state administration has agreed that all schools in the heritage areas in Banda Hilir, including the MHS will not be touched for any development project," he told reporters after chairing the weekly state executive councilor meeting.
This is serious, YAB!

I thought 'orang Melaka pandai cakap omputih, at least pun paham apa orang cakap'! How did they become 'wakil rakyat' and get the Exco post?

I know some of the CM's officers, notably his media officers in-charge of Press releases, official papers and the State's bulletin... sorry to say, they are 'English-lousy!'

Does this mean that only Mr CM attends to foreign dignitaries and non-Malaysian visitors to his office? And what about foreign investors? Only Idris speaks and understands English?

My suggestion - if they can't understand simple English, send them to English classes! The hawkers in Tengkera speak better English!

BESAU PUNYA HAWAU! MACAM MANA NAK JADI EXCO KALAU BAHASA INGGERIS PUN TAK 'LANCAU'?
