We don't need a 'military state status' to shoot at intruders, Mr AG!
As far as security and sovereignty matters are concerned, we need nobody's approval for our police and army personnel to either nab or shoot them before they get deeper into our territory... and kidnap you or the prime minister?
Please do not join the likes of opposition lawyers and 'human rights clowns' who prefer terrorists and gangsters kill some of us first before the police can take them in and charge them in court, only for them to be set free again.
Unless you want to see proof of what they are capable of, then we should wait and let them ransack the country. Let some bombs explode, Malaysians kidnapped and murdered before allowing our security forces to act.
They will politicise the issue, for sure, although by standard procedure, the shooting cannot be carried out before warning shots are fired or the intruders either leave our waters, surrender or start shooting at us.
Why must we become a military or a police state before we can act such?

Home Ministry has given security forces the go-ahead to shoot when faced with intruders encroaching into Malaysian waters and deemed a threat to national security, overriding a statement by the Attorney-General earlier.Let's hear to what the Opposition leaders got to say about this. Some will probably jump and accuse the government of taking a 'deadly and uncivilized' decision for allowing the police and army to shoot at intruders, especially in Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) area.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that if only shooting could stop intruders, the shooting was justified.
"The government has no problem with the shooting order if intruders try to enter the country," he said when commenting on a request by Navy chief Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar.
Earlier in the day, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had rejected the Navy chief's suggestion, saying that Malaysia is not a military state.
Adm Abdul Aziz had urged the government to issue the orders following another intrusion at the resort in Mabul Island, Semporna, Sabah, where a marine policeman was killed and another kidnapped two days ago.
Dr Ahmad Zahid also promised more changes to Esscom, the security force in charge of the eastern Sabah once police take over its operations today.
"We must also be proactive, not wait for someone to attack us and then react. The new procedures will include surveillance and control," said Dr Ahmad Zahid.
