HKR rally: Don't be bothered!

There was no 'march to Stadium Merdeka' as mentioned by Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and IGP. It is a rally inside the stadium, instead.

So, they kept to their promise of a 'peaceful demonstration'.

However, the government (especially Home Ministry) should be well aware that such an event - quite similar to Bersih - will go on and on until the next general election, and perhaps beyond that. They will never stop as it is part of the opposition strategies to undermine the Cabinet of PM Najib Tun Razak and avowing their displeasure at some 'unattended' issues.

And this time around, the police should have learned their lesson. My suggestion - as had been in the recent Bersih 3.0 - is for PDRM personnel be deployed at a distant and not somewhere near to the protesters.

While the police, according to IGP Ismail Omar are committed to ensuring that the rally planned for today will be peaceful, the Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat(HKR) organisers pledge to do their part to maintain order.

It is a positive decision that no Federal Reserve Unit personnel would be deployed and there would be no roadblocks in the city, something that had put Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding to a halt on April 28, 2012.

This was in line with the goal of having zero casualty during the rally, dubbed KL112, said city police chief Deputy Comm Mohmad Salleh yesterday. Police will facilitate the rally to ensure the safety of the participants and others present. They would set up 40 beat points within a 1km radius of Stadium Merdeka to ensure smooth movement of pedestrians and rally participants.

KDN and Bukit Aman must also realise there are already 'dirty plans' by the opposition to put all the blame on them should they police are engaged in a brawl with the protesters. During Bersih 3.0, the Suhakam special inquiry pointed out mostly to the police for starting the chaos.

So, learn from the past, will you! Keep up to the good and clean image. Of course, the protesters would intimidate them for no reason but this is the time to stay out of trouble. Unless the rally turns ugly, then the police should take necessary steps to control it.

The rally is just another milestone to the opposition's intimidating politic. No doubt it will get a wide cover-up by foreign media who would spin and exaggerate it to its extreme, the government of Barisan Nasional must not pay too much attention to it.

HKR rally, regardless of the turnout, should not deter BN from carrying out its duty for the nation and the rakyat.

Taking into account all events over the last few years, I believe the rakyat have realised how the opposition has been trying to dodge them with too many lies. Although a few appeared 'so realistic', they fizzled out when no supportive elements came to uphold it.

PM and team must focus more on strengthening its machinery for the next national poll. What's most important is getting the right fact and news from the ground, and not by reading and approving anything that comes from the people appointed for the job.

Why? Some of them are lying to please the bosses!
