BR1M in the eyes of Mahathir

Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says BR1M is a form of bribery, that it's sinful to the religion and morally it is wrong.

Not sharing the same page with him is Opposition Leader and wife to the man he puts to jail, Wan Azizah who says BR1M is not a bribe and is given to those in need and qualified recipients.

In some countries, 'BR1M' is given in forms of annual or monthly allowance, food allowance and as an unemployment scheme. Prime Minister Najib Razak calls it BR1M in a 'Malaysian' spirit.

So, what is wrong with BR1M? Everything is done transparently!

Dr Mahathir would have introduced similar schemes if he is still in power. The 'man he puts to jail' Anwar Ibrahim too would have thought the same thing if he is still with the Cabinet, especially Najib Razak's.

There were hiccups, yes, in the beginning of BR1M introduction but such 'glitches' were trimmed down to minimum years on. I don't think the unqualified receives BR1M.

So, Dr Mahathir (in my opinion) is wrong to say that BR1M is a form of bribery. Had BR1M attracted voters, especially the new ones with a monthly income of RM3,000 and below, Najib and Barisan Nasional would not have lost Selangor and almost Perak.

BR1M is a noble method introduced by the government to help the middle-and-low income brackets. Tell me, who hasn't 'tasted' BN or Umno's money?
