Withdraw from Parliament, EC challenges Anwar

Almost all opposition's state assemblymen who won their respective seat in the 13th general election had accepted the result and fact that Barisan Nasional is still the legitimate government, that the voters had retained Najib Tun Razak as their prime minister.

Opposition states Kelantan, Penang and Selangor had their sworn-in ceremony a few days after the national poll, and except for Selangor, the other two had also named their exco lineup.

But what's wrong with Pakatan Rakyat's elected membes of Parliament?

Led by Anwar Ibrahim, they still go around on rallies to contest the election result, claiming that they are the actual winner and electoral fraudulence had taken it away.

Latest, they planned to boycott the Parliament which is scheduled to convene next month as a symbol that the election result is not valid. However, their decision drew fire, especially from the Election Commission.

PUTRAJAYA: The election commission today threw a challenge to PKR Supremo Anwar Ibrahim to withdraw from parliament if he does not accept the results of the 13th general election.
“Those taking to the streets are the same people who had accepted the results in Penang and Selangor,” EC deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar told FMT.
“In Penang, they were sworn in immediately after the election. If you do not accept the results and claim that the election was unfair, why swear in?” asked Wan Ahmad.
“This is a sheer hypocrisy,” he said. “I challenge Anwar to boycott Parliament if he is unhappy.”
Wan Ahmad explained that a petition could be filed within 21 days after the results have been gazetted.
The results were gazetted on May 22, which now provides an avenue for dissatisfied parties to voice their grievances in a proper manner and through the right channel.
“I would like to thank PAS for accepting the election results and I urge all Malaysians to follow the law.
“There are avenues to express grievances, the courts can decide if the EC has failed to carry out its duties accordingly, instead of taking it to the streets,” said Wan Ahmad.
He stressed that the EC had carried out its duties according to the law and the constitution, and anyone who claims otherwise should challenge them in court.
“Malaysians are not gullible. People today are smart enough to differentiate claims by irresponsible parties who might have their personal agenda,” EC deputy chief explained.

How's that?

They voters had chosen them as their reps to the Parliament but they are more obsessed with their 'anti-EC' rallies nationwide instead of carrying out their duty. What kind of 'wakil rakyat' are they by neglecting and ignoring the trust given by the electorates?

Anwar and his friends should be more responsible as elected MPs and learn how to be a constructive opposition at the Dewan Rakyat, instead of instigating and inciting the rakyat to topple the government.

Why did they contests in the election?

They already failed to wrest Putrajaya from BN and its time to move on. Admit it and stop all this craps!
