MIC and Umno...

What's the difference between MIC and Umno?

Not much, I guess. However, MIC president G Palanivel has all the guts to tell his former boss Samy Vellu to 'stay out of MIC affairs'.

Even Samy's son Vell Paari has stood up for his father's honor.
PETALING JAYA: MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel has told Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu to stop meddling in the party’s affairs so that he could do things his own way.
He said his predecessor had no business trying to call the shots now that he has retired and had failed to help the Indians all those years when he was at the helm.
Palanivel said for almost 30 years that Samy Vellu was MIC President, the living standards of the Indian community is “still found wanting.”
“This is not my opinion. The facts are there. I have done more for the Indian community in my short period as MIC president than Samy Vellu had done in his almost 30 years,” said Palanivel in a statement yesterday.
Samy Vellu when contacted retorted: “What track records?”.
“I feel ashamed of him being the president. He does not use his head to think carefully.
“Why is he so ungrateful? He was only a reporter but I helped him to become a minister. I gave him MIC and he is going to kill it very soon. MIC has lost all its glory days,” said Samy Vellu.
He added that the best thing for Palanivel to do was to resign or risk losing the next election.
Samy had earlier said: "This man, whatever you give him, he has destroyed it."

I'm not comparing PM Najib and Palanivel. Najib still boasts strong-majority support from Umno and Barisan Nasional component parties. Najib is cool...and 'polite' enough.

He has never told former boss Dr Mahathir Mohamad to 'stop meddling' with his administration, except making some statements to contest Dr M's allegations, among which are 1MDB 'scandal', Altantuyaa murder case, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and his 'big spending'.

Even Dr M's son Mukhriz has stayed cool by saying that his father's criticism against Najib was not meant to weaken Umno and Barisan Nasional.

But the hour glass keeps turning, with not enough sands to sink...
